ANCHOR DETAIL

By Ralph Elliott

This is the worst pun I ever heard - Jack

Back in the late 60's I was assigned to a cutter out of the Norfolk area. During Navy underway training we were weighing anchor one day. An Ensign was the deck lieutenant and was calling out the position of the anchor as it was being picked up. When it came to water's edge he gave that position to the phone talker who relayed it to the Captain up on the bridge. The captain ordered "VERY WELL. HOUSE THE ANCHOR!" The Ensign replied, "It's doing fine, sir."
