COAST GUARD STORIES - Preserving our Coast Guard heritage - This is the main page. All new stories are posted here first. Other stories are rotated from the Library and indexed here. There are usually about fifty stories listed on this page for easy access.
LIBRARY SHELVES - Select stories from the library shelves. Scheduled for overhaul soon.
THE COMPLETE LIBRARY - All articles, stories, and poems, are listed alphabetically with their access on these pages. This is a very large file and takes a long time to download. A work in progress
THE PERMANENT NUMERICAL LISTINGS - All items are given a permanent unique number. All items can be directly accessed from this page. It is not in strict alphabetical order nor does it contain any descriptions, just number, name and author.
MEET JACK - A short bio.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: With a few exceptions this entire website has been written in Microsoft Front Page. Some of the exceptions are the articles that have been posted in the Adobe .PDF format. In the future more of the articles may be posted in .PDF format. All purely .HTML documents have limitations concerning picture placement, fonts available for use etc. To enable those who do not have the Adobe Reader I am placing a link which will permit you to download it at your leisure. This is a free program and well worth your time. When a .PDF file comes up, Adobe opens it automatically if you have it installed on your system.

To all those that look in on Jack's Joint: Pico Search is a search engine that will search this entire website to find any word. If you are looking for an article about the CGC BIBB for example, enter Bibb in the search box and then put your cursor on search and hit your left mouse button. Everything regarding the CGC BIBB on this site will come up in an index form. This works for stations, lighthouses, authors, etc.
"Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts
of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime."
COPYRIGHTS! I want to touch on this subject. While most people want to share their pictures and articles, please understand that those sharing these items, do own the pictures and items. With the electronic ease we have to copy text and pictures sometime we forget that the items are owned by someone else. If using pictures or anything we post, please ask for permission. Most people do not care if items are used, but do not want items sold, and credit should be given. It is a good rule to keep in mind when publishing items on the internet.
