|Report on Iraq Intelligence:
Parallels to Aviation Safety?|
By Mike Murphy,
Senior Training Consultant - Risk Management Can aviation
safety managers learn anything from the recent report on the
failures of intelligence gathering and processing at the
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)? The report
earlier this month by the U.S. Senate Select Committee on
Intelligence, found fundamental flaws in the intelligence that
was used to justify the invasion of Iraq. If the CIA, which
arguably has the most sophisticated intelligence analytical
tools and processes in the world, is having difficulties, how
would aviation organizations, who are struggling to install
safety management systems, fare if put under the microscope?
