The aircraft slammed into the ground at high speed in heavy rain and cloud cover, 30 kilometers ESE of Benalla. The pilot was flying IFR when he crashed. 30 July 2004: Red Bull Air Race event comes to Reno. Red Bull Air Race , first held last year in Austria and Hungary, will hold it's final event for 2004 as part of the this September's National Champioship Air Races and Air Show. The Red Bull Air Race is a single-plane "race against the clock" consisting of a prescribed series of aerobatic maneuvers executed on a course defined by inflatable pylons. The racers include some of the best aerobatic pilots from the USA and Europe, most of whom will be appearing at Reno for the first time.
29 July 2004: Cut-off dates for Ticket deliveries. In order to ensure that tickets ordered through the Reno Air Racing Association office [including orders through this Web site] are delivered on time, cut-off dates for mailed tickets have been established. The cut-off date for domestic orders [USA and Canada] is 13 August , the cut-off date for international addresses [all except USA and Canada] is 30 July . Orders placed after these mailing cut-off dates, but before 20 August will be processed; however the tickets will not be mailed, and must be picked up at the "WILL CALL" window on-site. To retrieve your tickets at "WILL CALL", you must have a photo ID [such as a drivers license or passport] matching the name on the ticket order, or the credit card used to pay for the tickets.
