BMCS John Sesta, OIC, Station Brunswick, advanced to Senior Chief on 01 APR 04. He and his crew use BOUNCE to ward off the gnats at their Georgia station.

BM1 Kory Cronin is teaching at the CG Special Missions Training Center at Camp Lejuene. All sorts of fun things like rope suspension, repelling from helos day and night, sniper training and Airborne school.

The USCGC Skipjack was commissioned 22 MAR 04. BMCS Robert Pryzblyski is the OIC and BM1 Aaron Pitney  is one of the plankowner crew.

MCPOCG Vince Patton (Ret) was back in Haiti for a couple of weeks in April to help rebuild the UN food distribution program.

LT Bill Stuckey (former Cape Horn/Proud Mary III XPO) retired in April and is now with the Department of Homeland Security. He read "The Cutter" poem at his retirement 21 MAR 04.

BM3 & Mrs. Ryan Romig (STA Brant Point) welcomed 5 lb. 9 oz. Kaleb Thomas into the world on 21 MAR 04. Kaleb is worth 1,335.0 points in the Woody's Tournament.

LCDR Rick Pineiro, former BM1/XPO at STA Brant Point showed up for a wedding in April. He is with the International Training Division until he retires on 01 AUG 04. He will start work for the Department of Justice on 15 AUG 04. The highlight of his visit was beating Cabin Boy on the Ring Game, 5-3 and 7-5. The CG Training Center Yorktown is again the CG Training Center Yorktown. LCDR Tom Wiggans, who retired 30 APR 04 at CG Training Center Yorktown, was so happy to hear the Ring Game news that he send hat #751 to The Hat Rack, a Coast Guard Kuwait Police model.

CWO2 Dan Brown was promoted to CWO3 and is now CO at STA Rockland. His wife, former QM3 Lisa Brown is the Municipal TV Director for Yarmouth and Cumberland Maine.

Great Point Lighthouse fell down upon itself 20 years ago this past 29 MAR 04.

BNC Mark Mello took command at STA Cape Cod Canal on 23 APR 04. BMC Herman Hause, whom he replaced, is now the OIC at ATON Bristol RI.

BMC Fred "Wiggles" Coffin passed over the bar on 08 MAY 04. STA Brant Point Honor Guard and bugler did an outstanding job. Many of Chief Coffin's shipmates were present as was BMCM Jack Downey.

Jack & Joana Eckert (www.jacksjoint) will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on 13 JUL 04. Thanks For Remembering us Cabin Boy - Jack

Cabin Boy lost his CGC Chase lighter 5 years ago. It was recently found in a driveway where he had been clearing poison ivy for someone who was/is very sensitive to the poison ivy, and an ex-Coastie found it!

CWO3 Mary Ward recently sent 16 Coast Guard hats to The Hat Rack, raising the total to 767. Number 800 will receive the bounty of Nantucket Bay Scallops.

LT John Burns relieved LCDR Patrick McMahon as CO, USCGC Sturgeon Bay on 25 JUN 04.

ET1 Lee and YN1 Beth Cuthbertson sent The Hat Rack #768, an ESD New Haven model. Lee is stationed at ESD New Haven and Beth is stationed at the USCG Academy.

A wedding reception graced STA Brant Point on 19 JUN 04. BMCM Jack Downey brought the bride (his daughter) and groom to the station after the church service, on CG 36500. The whole day was impressive and seeing BMCM Downey in a tuxedo was worth the price of admission! The official photographer, Brian Tague, who flies with The Flying Santa, also dropped off hat #769, a Friends of Flying Santa  model.

BMCM Jack Downey took command of USCGC Hammerhead on 02 JUL 04, relieving BMCS Gordie McClay, who is heading for an inspection team at Woods Hole.

CDR John Metcalf will take command of the Civil Engineering Unit Providence on 09 JUL 04, relieving CDR Thomas Jones. CDR Metcalf is a former 5th grade student of Cabin Boy.

STA Brant Point was awarded its second Kimball Sumner Readiness Award recently, scoring 49 out of 50 points on the inspection centered on the 41' UTB. What a great crew!
