SEPTEMBER 11,
2001

Another horrid
day of infamy;
a tidal wave of fears.
Terrorists murder thousands;
now we shed tears.
Great buildings, once dominant,
crumble to dust.
Planes fall from a sunny sky
with a nation's trust.
Graveyards coldly remind us
of the equality of man.
The devil's own madness
devises a cruel plan.
Of the future assigned us
no one can be sure.
A nation's destiny forms
from trials it endures.
Remember Pearl Harbor,
and this September day.
We measure history,
and pause to pray.
